Ospreys fans are being urged to buy their tickets for the two big December games against Munster and the Scarlets now - or face missing out on the action.
Twice European Champions Munster arrive at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday 18thDecember for the second leg of a Heineken Cup double-header (KO 3.45pm), with local rivals the Scarlets visiting just eight days later for the Boxing Day West Wales derby (4.10pm), a game which had traditionally been a complete sell-out weeks in advance.
Interest in the games is high, with tickets sales for both already approaching 12,000 with six weeks still to go before Munster come to Ospreylia, and Ospreys bosses say that they anticipate all the tickets being snapped up well ahead of matchday.
Ospreys Managing Director, Roger Blyth, said:
“The indications are that we are set for two sell-out crowds of 20,520, so my strong advice to fans who want to come to the games is buy them now before they are gone.
“A local derby is a traditional part of the festive period, and that hasn’t changed with regional rugby. Fans want to go to the game for a special day out with their family and friends, and anyone planning to do so should act to get their tickets as soon as possible. It is clear that no-one will be able to just turn up on the day and buy a ticket, so the message to all fans is don’t hang around or you’re going to be disappointed.
“The Munster game is also set to be a huge occasion, with demand for that game building as well. Everybody knows about Munster’s huge travelling support, and I would anticipate that over the coming weeks their fans will be looking to secure their seats for what could be a crucial game in the Heineken Cup campaign for both sides, so with almost 12,000 tickets already accounted for, our fans shouldn’t hang around if they want to be at the game.
“Both games will be fantastic occasions, with big crowds and great rugby on display. We want as many of our fans as possible present at the Liberty Stadium for both games, to play their part in what we hope will be two memorable wins for the Ospreys.”
Tickets for the two games, along with the Magners League fixtures against Leinster (Sun 28thNov 5.00pm) and Edinburgh (Sat 4thDec 6.30pm) and the LV= Cup fixture against Leicester Tigers in Bridgend (Fri 12thNov 7.45pm) are available to buy now from the Liberty Stadium Ticket Office, online at 0870 400 004 or via the Ospreys website.
