As a result of the heavy and persistent rainfall throughout the month of July, the Cwmtawe 7s have been advised that the tournament pitches are currently not playable.
CWMTAWE 7'S - TOURNAMENT CANCELLED
As a result of the heavy and persistent rainfall throughout the month of July, that has accentuated in the recent week and following a pitch inspection by NPT and the tournament referees, the Cwmtawe 7s have been advised that the tournament pitches are currently not playable.
In addition, there is a requirement for heavy vehicles to traverse the fields to facilitate marquees, toilets, fencing, sound systems, catering, refrigerated vehicles with cold drinks etc and this is not possible with the ground in its current condition. The tournament is therefore not viable.
With more rain forecast for Friday July 31st & Saturday August 1st the Cwmtawe 7s has reluctantly no option but to cancel the tournament for the first time in its history.
Whilst we are all disappointed with this outcome, we can assure all affected parties that the tournament will be back at Parc Ynysderw, Pontardawe, Swansea on Saturday August 7th 2010.
