The battle for silverware starts today as the Wednesday Under 18 league is split into the Cup and Trophy competitions
The first part of the WRU Wednesday Under 18 league season is now over and with teams being placed into two tiers of competition, depending on their results so far, the battle for silverware starts today.
It's a case of déjà vu for the three Ospreylian colleges this season with Bridgend again making it into the upper tier of the competition to compete for the Cup while Gower College Swansea narrowly miss out a second time and go into the Trophy competition alongside Neath Port Talbot College.
Bridgend College face a tough challenge in their first match as they travel to the so far undefeated Cowbridge Comprehensive School who topped their group after two huge victories over Llandovery Pembroke Colleges.
After missing out on a chance to compete in the Cup competition last season by the narrowest of margins Gower College Swansea swore to win the Trophy, which they did with games to spare. Dan Cluroe's men will be working hard to make sure history repeats itself this year, starting with a home game against Whitchurch High School who are yet to record a win this season.
Elsewhere Neath Port Talbot College will be travelling to Coleg Llandrillo looking for their first win of the season. Despite some good performances against some incredibly strong teams NPTC have fallen to three defeats in a row.
All games are scheduled to kick off at 2.30pm today, Wednesday 30th September.
