Wales and Ospreys Women locks Natalia John and Gwen Crabb are confident ahead of their game against Italy.
Rowland Phillips' side fell to an opening Six Nations defeat to France last weekend but Ospreys second-row John, who is making her second start, believes they will turn it around in Lecce.
"I felt like we didn't show what we were capable of against France," she said.
"We've done a lot of tweaks in training this week. We've worked on our physicality and trying to implement that into our game against Italy.
"Hopefully we can put in an impressive performance and get a good result. I think its smart not to underestimate them.
"Yes Italy are a physical side but we can bring the physicality to match them. If we can get our individual processes right then we should do well."
John will be partnered in the second-row by fellow Ospreys lock Gwen Crabb who is also making her second test start. Crabb echoed John's words and has challenged the Wales pack to assert themselves physically against a powerful Italian eight.
"All of us have been working really hard in training and it's been quite frustrating being there watching knowing the capabilities of the girls and how much they put into training that it didn't come out on the pitch," said Crabb.
"Hopefully everything will come together this weekend and we will be a lot more physical this weekend. Our defensive principles are centred around double hits.
"Even against France last weekend our defence was good and we hit them back a lot. We will trust to each other, stick to our principles and believe we can win."
