THE WELSH BLOOD SERVICE AND THE OSPREYS WILL BE ASKING THE PEOPLE OF WALES TO MAKE THEIR MUMS PROUD THIS MOTHER'S DAY BY GIVING BLOOD AND SAVING LIVES.
Mothers Day is a time to celebrate and reflect upon what it is to be a mother and also what it means to have a mother.
Each year over 67,000 babies are born in the UK, for most families it is a time of immense joy and relief when their child is born safely. But not all births go as expected. Some women experience complication during pregnancy and childbirth and will need blood transfusions during or after labour and delivery.
Thanks to the generosity and kindness of blood donors, many women would not be Mothers today. What a difference a donor makes!
Trudi Evans, Recruitment Manager at the Welsh Blood Service added "We are calling upon the people of Wales who are able to donate blood to step forward, roll up their sleeves and become official life-savers. A regular blood donor can feel proud in the knowledge that because of them, someone's life has been saved and their health restored - Someone like Michelle Jones."
"My daughter is a blood donor and how proud am I. What better gift could you give this Mothers Day? Please help make a difference"
