Speaking ahead of the game, head coach for the combined squad, Duncan Jones, said:
“All the coaches have enjoyed working with the players as one squad after watching them over the two blocks of the regional competition and we’ve looked to build on the good work already done by the East and West coaches. The group have had to gel quickly and are enjoying the chance to play a higher standard of rugby as a combined squad.
“As with any Ospreys age grade team the focus for these games will be very much on skill development, without losing the desire to win those small moments. Get that right and the scoreboard will take care of itself. As with the combined last year all we can ask the players is that we improve as a team every game and enjoy the time we have together.”
