Ospreys back row forward Jerry Collins appeared today before an independant Celtic Rugby disciplinary hearing convened in Edinburgh following his citing in the Magners League fixture against Munster.
The committee, chaired by John Kirk (Scotland) alongside Marco Cordelli (Italy) and Paul Minto (Scotland) upheld the citing but, on a majority decision, concluded that the tackle, although dangerous and reckless, did not warrant a red card.
The player, having collected his third yellow card of the Magners League campaign for the incident, is automatically suspended from tomorrow’s match against Aironi, but is free to play thereafter.
