Coaches across region urged to register as

As the 2009/10 season draws closer, the Ospreys Coach Development Department are looking to ensure that the ever-growing curriculum of events they host remains relevant to the coaches currently active across the region.

As always, the coming season will see a regular schedule of development events, including monthly coaching workshops in the east of the region at Kenfig Hill RFC and at Dunvant RFC in the west, this weekend’s Summer Coaching Conference at Llandarcy, and the newly launched ORCA forum for Level 3 coaches above.

To assist with the planning of future events, we are requesting all active coaches from 1st XV down to Under-7 to visit www.wrucoaching.co.uk and register as an active coach, paying particular attention to current coaching duties, indicating these during registration.

Jason Lewis, WRU Ospreys Community Development Manager, said:

“There is a clear coach development pathway in place, and we want to assist as many coaches in the region as we can to achieve their full potential. To do that, we need to know what it is they are doing, and where they are doing it, so that we can ensure that over the course of the season we are able to provide the levels of support that they need, in the areas where they need it.

“By registering, you will assist us in our planning for the months ahead. We want to ensure that our events are tailored towards the specific needs of the region’s coaching population in order to refine the many activities we host that are aimed at supporting them.

“If we are to develop first class players in the region we need strong coaches, they play a vital role and their influence should not be underestimated.”
