Clarity and the Ospreys work in tandem

The Ospreys helped launch a brand new monthly business networking lunch in Bridgend, hosted by one of the region’s commercial partners and suppliers.

Clarity Copiers are behind the new initiative, being held at the Bridgend Ford Brewery Field, and the inaugural meeting was attended by Rugby General Manager, Andrew Millward and Wayne Hall, Head of Sales, along with players Sam Lewis and Tom Grabham.

The lunch event saw the Bridgend business community coming together, where they heard from Millward, Lewis and Grabham about life as an Osprey and how the season is progressing.

As Wayne Hall explains, the partnership between Clarity and the Ospreys is one that has grown from small beginnings, something that was of great interest to the local businesses represented on the day.

“Sometimes we hear from people that they would love to come on board at the Ospreys but they believe that they don’t have the budget or their business is too small” said Hall.

“That’s definitely not the case. Clarity Copiers are a great example of a business that has benefited from working with us. Their initial interest was simply a ground advertising board at the Brewery Field, but that has grown so that not only do they sponsor Sam Lewis, they have a presence on the new LED megacreens at the Liberty for each home game. More than that, they have actually become an official supplier to the Ospreys, providing a solution to all our copying and printing needs at the Liberty Stadium and Llandarcy.

“This is exactly how it should be, the Ospreys and local businesses working in tandem, with mutual benefits.”

Des Mann from Clarity Copiers said:

“The way our relationship with the Ospreys has grown and developed is way beyond what we anticipated when we first took out a ground board, but this is just the start of a long-term relationship. We are excited about the future working with them and being a part of what they are trying to do in growing the business off the field.

“As the relationship has grown, it really has been an education for us to see how the Ospreys put so much effort into growing rugby at grass roots level, something which is crucial for Bridgend, for the Ospreys and for Wales. We all need to shout about it, everyone in the region needs to get behind the Ospreys now.

“We all want to be doing business with people that are successful, sport is no different.  I look forward to continuing to work with the Ospreys, building strong foundations for successful business and rugby.

“It gave us huge pleasure to be able to welcome them to our launch event at the Brewery Field, and their presence helped to make it a huge success. I know that there is real support for the Ospreys among the Bridgend business community and we look forward to more companies following us in enjoying the benefits of a relationship with their region.”

At the event Sam presented Clarity Copiers with his signed playing jersey from last season as a thank you for their ongoing sponsorship of him.
