Children’s Choir returns to Liberty this Friday

A choir consisting of hundreds of school children from the Neath Port Talbot area will be the star attraction at the Liberty Stadium on Friday night ahead of the PRO12 derby against Cardiff Blues.

The choir is made up of the Ysgol Gyfun Ystalyfera School Choir, along with pupils from primary schools across their community including Blaendulais, Castellnedd, Cwm Nedd, Cwmgors, Cwmllynfell, Gwaun Cae Gurwen, Pontardawe, Rhosafan, Trebannws, Tyle’r Ynn and Y Wern.

The specially created choir came together for the first time almost exactly a year ago for a celebration of Welsh culture at the derby fixture against the Dragons at the Liberty Stadium in March 2013, and will return for Friday night’s intriguing clash between the Welsh regions to perform ahead of kick-off.

Their enthusiasm and sheer enjoyment of the occasion proved infectious the last time they performed, with supporters present at the match thoroughly enjoying their performance, so supporters attending Friday night’s game are encouraged to get along early to enjoy the choir’s singing ahead of the game, before they also perform at half-time.
