Tyler Ardron and Jeff Hassler will be looking to help their nation secure a place at the Rugby World Cup 2015 this month after being named in the Canada squad for two crucial qualifying matches.
The Canucks face USA in back-to-back matches on Saturday 17th August (Charleston, South Carolina) and a week later on the 24th (Toronto), with the winner qualifying for the finals in England in two years time. The losers will face a play-off versus a South American nation.
Summer signings Ardron and Hassler will meet up with their international team-mates this weekend, joining RaboDirect PRO12 rival DTH Van Der Merwe (Glasgow Warriors), Jebb Sinclair from London Irish, Sale’s Phil Mackenzie and Clermont Auvergne veteran Jamie Cudmore in the squad.
They will then return to Ospreylia in time to be involved in the game against Bath at the Recreation Ground on Friday 30th August, KO 7.30pm.
