The Ospreys confirmed today that prop Cam Jones had signed a new deal with the club.
Jones is a product of the Ospreys development pathway and has made 12 appearances for the club. The prop has also featured for Swansea RFC in the SRC on a number of occasions.
Standing at 6’4, Jones has the frame and power needed to make an impactful difference around the park whilst also possessing a turn of pace that allows him to take advantage of broken defences.
Speaking on his new deal, Jones, said: “This is my hometown club so I’m really happy to be staying here. I came through the Academy here and have come a long way since then, so it’s great to have the opportunity to continue my career here.
“There’s so many of the boys that I came through with that are still here, and it’s great to have been on this journey with them. The next step for me now is to keep pushing on and get as much time in the black jersey as I can next season.”
Head Coach, Mark Jones, said: “Cam is a player we have high hopes for us a coaching staff. He has all the potential to be a top-quality player and if he can push on and take those next steps, I have no doubt that he will achieve that.”
“He’s been working hard on the training pitch to develop his game and I know Duncan (Jones) has been extremely impressed with the strides he has been making in the scrum.
“As a club, it’s always been a high priority for us to retain and develop our young homegrown talent, and Cam certainly fits into that bracket. We’re happy that he sees his future at the club.”
