With the Ospreys eagerly awaited return to the Riverside Hardware Brewery Field now just a little over 48 hours away, supporters from the Bridgend area are looking forward to seeing their home region playing at their local rugby club.
It’s the fifth time that the Ospreys have hosted an LV= Cup at the home of Bridgend Ravens, with reigning Aviva Premiership champions and current league leaders Harlequins following in the footsteps of Leicester, Wasps, Northampton and Newport Gwent Dragons in providing the opposition at the famous old ground.
As excitement ahead of the game grows, Pencoed based father and son Malcom and Graham Harrison, both season members, are looking forward to making the short trip to the game on Sunday. Malcom said:
“Being passionate Osprey fans, who follow the one true region both home and away we are delighted to have this opportunity to support the boys on our home patch. There is good support for the Ospreys in the Bridgend area and it is great to see the Ospreys management once again committing to this part of the region.”
Meanwhile, Roslyn Crocker from Porthcawl is another season member who is eagerly anticipating the chance to see her region playing in her own district once again.
“As a Porthcawl Ospreylian I’m excited that this game is here at Riverside Hardware Brewery Field” said Roslyn.
“I enjoy going to away games but this one I have the best of both, away from our home the Liberty but still in Ospreylia.
“I’ve enjoyed the great atmosphere at previous Ospreys games here and don’t expect any less from the supporters today. It’s a great idea to take occasional game out into the one true region. It’s a real treat for me on my doorstep.”
Tickets for the game remain on sale at both the Riverside Hardware Brewery Field and the Liberty Stadium Ticket Office, between 10am and 6pm. Supporters visiting the Liberty Stadium Ticket Office to purchase tickets should be aware that with queues for Swansea City Wembley tickets you should use the left hand entrance where there is a dedicated till for the use of Ospreys fans. Sunday’s game against Harlequins at the Riverside Hardware Brewery Field kicks off at 5.00pm, with turnstiles opening at 4.00pm. Tickets will be available to buy on the day but supporters are advised to purchase in advance to avoid queues.
