OSPREYS CLEAR UP TV CONFUSION

Ospreys bosses have moved to clear up confusion surrounding television coverage of Saturday evening's Heineken Cup clash against Bourgoin at the Liberty Stadium.

Some media and TV guides are advertising the clash between the region and their French opposition, the opening fixture in this season's competition, as being broadcast live on TV. Both Sky Sports and S4C have been reported as broadcasting the game live at 5.30pm, but according to Paul Thorburn of the Ospreys, this is not the case. He said:

"€œThere have been a number of confusing listings published that show the Ospreys V Bourgoin as being broadcast live, either on Sky Sports or S4C, but that is not the case. The game is not being shown live on either channel "€" S4C will be broadcasting the match later in the evening on a delayed basis and Sky will only show highlights. The only broadcaster who will be showing the match live is Sport+, who will be broadcasting only to a French audience.

"€œWe have moved to clear up this confusion after receiving feedback from a number of sources, who were under the misapprehension that it was being broadcast live in Wales. As it stands, the only way that you will be able to watch the whole game live, in its entirety, is to buy a ticket and watch it in person at the Liberty Stadium. Hopefully, this will boost the crowd, as rugby fans that were looking forward to watching the match on Sky or S4C may now opt to enjoy the real match day experience instead. It promises to be an exciting game and we are hoping that Ospreys fans will be turning out in big numbers to get behind us as we look to get our Heineken Cup campaign off to a winning start."€

The match has been designated a Level 1 fixture under the new pricing structure, with adult prices starting at £16. Ticket Office, via the Ticket Hotline on 08700 400 004 or online at http://www.ospreysrugby.com/. Any tickets purchased on the day of the match itself are subject to a £2 surcharge.
