Head Physio Chris Towers has issued the following update with regards the neck injury sustained by Ben Lewis during tonight's win over Aironi at the Liberty Stadium.
Towers said:
“Given the symptoms, position and mechanism of the injury we adopted a safety first outlook that saw him taken from the field on a spinal board.
“Although he was able to talk calmly to us and to move all four limbs, he has been taken to hospital for further examination and tests to establish if there is any underlying injury.
“We are now waiting to hear from the doctor, and will be in a better position to provide a further update on his condition over the course of the next few days.”
