Ospreys supporters are preparing for the big unveiling of the 2015/16 jersey, with their first chance to see the region’s new shirt now just two days away.
The latest version of the iconic jersey, which remains the second biggest selling club or regional jersey in Britain and Ireland, will be revealed at a special family-friendly launch day at the Liberty Stadium this Saturday, with players, supporters, management and staff, and commercial partners, all celebrating the region’s new-look.
For the second year the kit will be manufactured by Australian based company BLK, who took the existing template of a successful Ospreys jersey last season and took it to another level with a popular cyan and yellow colour scheme on a shirt which continued to exceed expectations in terms of sales.
Yarnie Guthrie, Commercial Manager, said:
“Since we first took our kit launch live and started unveiling it publicly, more and more supporters each year have enjoyed being part of what is now a huge day in the summer calendar, and we are expecting more of the same on Saturday morning.
“We all know how iconic the Ospreys jersey has become and that supporters love the build up and anticipation ahead of the big reveal, and we look forward to welcoming fans, young and old, to the Liberty Stadium for a first sighting of what we believe will be the most popular shirt yet.
“Thanks to a number of competitions we have been running this week via social media and our radio partner the Wave, there will be some lucky children on stage on Saturday who will not only receive a free jersey, they will get to be part of the launch itself, which is very exciting.”
The action will get underway at the Liberty Stadium at 10am, with fun for all the family and plenty to keep children young and old occupied. We’ll have live music from Ragsy, star of BBC's The Voice, drop in rugby coaching sessions provided by Ospreys in the Community, multi skills games provided by the Urdd fairground attractions and the Ospreys inflatables.
The undoubted highlight of the morning will be fashion show involving squad members who will be modelling the latest kit, training and leisurewear, which will be on sale post launch.
There’ll also be plenty of chances to win some Ospreys goodies throughout the morning, including a specially created double tier Ospreys cake courtesy of Raspberry Cakery, while post-kit reveal the players will be instore at the Club Shop signing autographs while you snap up the new jersey.
The Club Shop will open for business immediately following the reveal, with the new jersey and clothing range available to buy instore and online.
All supporters who have purchased a Kids Plus membership will receive their 2015/16 jersey from a player on Saturday.
The Kids Plus handover will take place between 11.30am and 12.30pm.
