Reuben re-signs with the Ospreys

The Ospreys are excited to announce scrum half Reuben Morgan-Williams has signed a new deal to extend his stay at the regional rugby franchise.

Morgan-Williams, 24, has signed a three-year deal to stay at the Swansea.com Stadium.

The Wales U20s half-back has come through the Ospreys Player Pathway Programme, playing for the Academy and Neath RFC before making his debut for the Ospreys in 2017.

He made his 50th appearance for the Ospreys against Glasgow earlier this season and has made 11 appearances during the current United Rugby Championship campaign.

An exciting and elusive scrum half, with a slick service, Morgan-Williams is one of a core group of young players who have been given an opportunity under Head coach, Toby Booth.

Reuben Morgan-Williams, Ospreys and Wales U20s scrum half, said:

“I grew up supporting the Ospreys and my family are Ospreys supporters, so to play for this team really means a lot to me and I never take for granted the opportunity to pull on the jersey.

“I grew up with a lot of the boys here, coming through the Academy and we are a really tight group. Toby has given us a real opportunity and it’s when you train that you realise how talented some of the younger players are here.

“It’s a really exciting time to be at the Ospreys and you can feel we are really growing as a squad.  I just want to take every chance I have to make an impression when I play.

“The ambition is to be the first-choice number nine but I obviously have to prove myself to be that, it has been a tough season behind Webby and coming off the bench, but I know I need to keep pushing to get better.”

Toby Booth, Ospreys Head Coach, said:

“Reuben is a player we have really invested in and is one of a group of young players we see as being key to the Ospreys future.

“The challenge for him is to keep learning, to keep honing his skills and developing his game, and to be ready when he gets the opportunity to pull on the Ospreys jersey.”
