Ospreys supporting KFC

Ospreys players have thrown their weight behind a charity single being released next week in honour of drummer Stuart Cable who passed away last month.

Killing for Company, the band that the former Stereophonics drummer was working with prior to his untimely death, have decided to release the song ‘Former Mining Town’ as a download single in his honour, with all proceeds being shared between Ty Hafan, a charity already closely linked to the Ospreys, and the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Members of the band met up with the Ospreys squad after training at Llandarcy on Thursday, along with Cable’s girlfriend, Rachel Jones.

The track has already got the support of heavyweight music stars, including Sir Tom Jones, Kasabian, Sharon Corr, the Manic Street Preachers and Cable’s former band the Stereophonics.

Speaking on behalf of the Ospreys, Shane Williams commented:

“We are all honoured to be able to show our support for this single. Stuart’s death at a young age was tragic but his band are determined that his legacy will live on, so we genuinely hope that this song goes on to raise a lot of money for good causes in his memory.”

‘Former Mining Town’ is available to download from July 25th, via iTunes, all other major online music stores or from the band’s own website, www.killingforcompany.com.
