Ospreys say cheese for new charity calendar

Persimmon Homes East Wales has teamed up with the Ospreys to bring fans something that's never been seen before. The leading Llantrisant-based housebuilder is the brainchild of a brand new Ospreys 2010 charity calendar that goes on sale on the 30th October 2009.

Featuring the likes of Lee Byrne as Mr. January and Mike Phillips as Mr. February, the calendar was photographed over a three-day period in a number of Persimmon’s showhomes across the region, and props donated by the housebuilder were used to bring the pictures to life.

Those choosing to snap up a calendar for 2010 will not only be able to see the players in a very different light but will also be giving something back to two very worthy causes.

All proceeds generated from the sale of the calendars, will go towards two charities; Persimmon’s charity partner, Dreams Come True, which helps to make the dreams of children who suffer from terminal or serious illness come true and LATCH, Osprey’s chosen charity, which supports the children's oncology centre, based at the Children's Hospital for Wales, to help affected families and promote research in childhood cancer.

The calendars are priced at £10 each and will be available to purchase from the Ospreys Superstore.

Sharon Robinson, sales director for Persimmon Homes East Wales, comments: “We are thrilled to bits with the end result of the calendar and extremely grateful to the Ospreys for sparing the time to appear in it.

“All of the players were true professionals and I am confident that all of their fans and those who are keen to support the charities will purchase a calendar either for themselves or for friends and family.”

Ryan Jones, team captain for the Ospreys said: “Where possible we try to help worthy causes and this opportunity was just too tempting to turn down. The players enjoyed taking on a new role in front of the camera and had lots of fun doing it. We hope everyone will snap up a calendar for Christmas.”
