Young rugby fans Skye, Lucie and Kelsey Edwards led the team out on Friday night after winning a High 5 award.
The High 5 Awards were set up with the aim of showing justhow inspirational, caring and determined children and young people in Swansea are. The nominees are young people who go above and beyond to support their families, overcome barriers to raise money for charity, build bridges across different communities, or make their school a better place to be.
Three such children are Skye, Lucie and Kelsey Edwards who the High 5 judges chose to honour with a special award after they were nominated individually. The sisters aged 10, 8 and 7 have overcome personal challenges and put those experiences to use to help others.
They were nominated for being caring, supportive and sensitive to another family, using their own experiences to help them. They showed understanding and empathy beyond their years and also showed they were willing to do whatever it took to make other children feel comfortable, including sharing their time and toys.
The girls are huge rugby fans and the Ospreys decided they deserved a special treat for their kindness, so arranged for the sisters to be our mascots on Friday evening when we faced Wasps at the Liberty Stadium. Skye, Lucie and Kelsey were presented with Ospreys 2017/18 home shirts, interviewed on the big screen and met the players, before leading the team out onto the pitch for the Anglo Welsh clash.
