Ospreys lose to Glasgow at Brewery Field

OSPREYS V GLASGOW WARRIORS
BKT UNITED RUGBY CHAMPIONSHIP
BREWERY FIELD
18TH OCTOBER 2025

Ospreys try scorers: Reuben Morgan-Williams, Luke Morgan

A Saturday night under the lights at the Brewery Field saw Glasgow Warriors in fine form. Two tries from the Ospreys weren't enough to hold back the visitors, who crossed six times in a convincing performance.

Ospreys started strong, advancing quickly down the field and getting the driving maul going in the right hand corner. Pressure led to a penalty try awarded, but the decision was eventually reversed by a TMO check. Play on.

Soon after the disallowed Ospreys score, Glasgow put the first points on the board. After a spell of possession near the Ospreys line, Jamie Dobie sniped between two defenders and dotted the ball down. Try converted. Ospreys 0 - 7 Glasgow.

TRY FOR THE OSPREYS! It looked like battle of the scrum halves as Ospreys mirrored the Glasgow score, but with Reuben Morgan-Williams sniping through the Warriors defensive line. Dan Eds converted. Ospreys 7 - 7 Glasgow.

But, Glasgow answered straight back. A penalty advantage in the Ospreys 22 allowed them to put out a risky pass out to Kyle Steyn who finished in the corner. Conversion successful. Ospreys 7 - 14 Glasgow.

The boys put the pressure straight back on Glasgow with some big hits on the gain line, but the visitors stood firm. Eventually it proved too much for them and a penalty allowed Dan Eds to add three points and keep us in touch. Ospreys 10 - 14 Glasgow.

Dan Eds was pulling out all the tricks in the first half, controlling a Glasgow dink through with a deft touch of the right boot before popping it to Jack Walsh to clear their lines.

With just under 30 minutes played, the Ospreys were reduced to 14 as a late change of direction resulted in Dewi going high in the tackle. With the man advantage the next opportunity went to the visitors, but a massive defensive stand on our own line eventually resulted in an Ospreys penalty.

However, Glasgow’s next trip to the Ospreys 22 did result in a score. It looked like it was going to be another big defensive stop, but a Warriors maul went over and Johnny Matthews picked up the points. Conversion successful.  Ospreys 10 - 21 Glasgow.

HALF TIME:  Ospreys 10 - 21 Glasgow

TRY FOR THE OSPREYS! The boys came flying out of the blocks in the second half. Reubs went down the blindside and a succession of perfect pop passes sent Luke Morgan over to finish with aplomb in the corner. Dan Eds drilled a beauty from the touchline to bring the boys within four. Ospreys 17 - 21 Glasgow.

Glasgow answered right back. Dobie sniped a gap and went through untouched for his second, securing the bonus point for the visitors. Ospreys 17 - 28 Glasgow.

With 25 to go, the Warriors went close. A loose ball broke to Steyn who grubbered it downfield, but some superb recovery work from the Postman Dan Kasende prevented the score.

Changes in the back line saw Gwilym Evans come on for his first Ospreys cap and Max Nagy for his 50th. Llongyfarchiadau, both!

Ospreys were fighting hard in defence, but Glasgow were relentless. The marked the final quarter with their fifth try, a well worked move off seat piece that sent Ferry through for the score. Ospreys 17 - 35 Glasgow.

The next opportunity went begging as the TMO intervened to rule out a Glasgow score for an obvious cross in the lead up. But, the visitors couldn't been denied a final score as the rolling maul got going from the line out and powered Macenzzie Duncan over.

FULL TIME:  Ospreys 17 - 42 Glasgow

We're away to Dragons next weekend un a big Welsh Derby, then back to the Brewery in December after the international break as the EPCR Challenge Cup gets going against Connacht. We've been on fine form in Europe in recent seasons, so make sure you're there to cheer on the boys.
