Ospreys to host Guinness PRO14 clash with Benetton Rugby at St. Helen's

Ospreys will return to St Helen’s in Swansea to face Italian side Benetton Rugby in the Guinness Pro14 clash on Sunday, November 22nd.  (Kick-off 1.45pm)

The home of Swansea RFC, St Helen’s is now the temporary training base for the Ospreys due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Ospreys last fixture at the historic ground was when they faced English Premiership side Harlequins in the Anglo-Welsh Cup in 2016.

Andrew Millward, Ospreys Managing Director
“The return to St Helen’s to train came out of necessity but it has provided the Ospreys with a fresh start and been a popular move with the coaches and players."

The Ospreys have a history of hitting the road across the region to different venues, with the likes of the Gnoll in Neath and the Brewery Field in Bridgend, hosting Ospreys fixtures.

Andrew Millward, the Ospreys Managing Director, said:

“The return to St Helen’s to train came out of necessity but it has provided the Ospreys with a fresh start and been a popular move with the coaches and players.

“St Helen’s status as one of the iconic venues in Welsh sport is well known and it is home to the All Whites, one of the two foundation clubs for the Ospreys.”

Keith Coclough, Swansea RFC Managing Director
“To see the team play a competitive game for the first time for four years at the ground will be very satisfying for all of us connected with the All Whites.”

St Helen’s was the joint-home for the Ospreys for the first two years of the region's history before they moved to the Liberty Stadium in Swansea back in 2005.

While the Ospreys are based at the Liberty Stadium in Swansea, the region they embrace stretches from Wales' second city to Port Talbot, Aberavon and as far as Bridgend, taking in rugby clubs in the towns and villages across the region.
