38 coaches from across the region attended a special 'Game Sense Coaching' seminar at Llandarcy Academy of Sport recently.
Hosted by the Ospreys Coach Development Team and led by Dan Owens, the seminar focused on an aspect of coaching which is often under utilised but which can be of significant benefit in team play.
With such an overwhelming response from the regions coaching community, Dan Owens said it was a great evening:
We are delighted with the attendance at this session, and the input from the coaches participating was excellent. Their enthusiasm and co-operation made the evening a success from our point of view, and the discussions that were generated were certainly thought provoking. Hopefully, those present were able to take something from the evening that they will now be able to adopt into their coaching practices.
Those present have now been set the task of choosing one technique, skill or tactical objective that is specific to their coaching age groupand then devising one game to develop this area, with the results being shared among the coaching group.
Below is a self-explanatory handout from the session for coaches who may share an interest in the subject matter. For further information, you should contact daniel.owens@ospreysrugby.com
