By Ospreys Rugby | 30/05/2019

Sam Davies is to leave the Ospreys it was confirmed today, two weeks after his 150th appearance for his home Region.

With his contract expiring this weekend, Swansea born Davies will bring to an end a 10-year association with the Ospreys.

Having made his debut in January 2012, in an LV= Cup tie with the Dragons, he started 96 games, coming off the bench in a further 54. His 836 points puts him second on the all-time list, two ahead of James Hook having edged past him when he kicked two conversions in his final game, this month’s Champions Cup defeat of the Scarlets.

Dan Griffiths, Rugby General Manager, said:

“Sam leaves the Ospreys with the best wishes of everyone at the Region. He has grown up in our environment and been a big part of the team over the last seven years and his record speaks for itself. He feels that the time is right for a fresh challenge and we wish him good luck for the future.

“With Gareth Anscombe and Luke Price secured for next season and beyond, some exciting young talent coming through the ranks and further recruitment planned, we are looking forward to the coming season with real enthusiasm.”
