Matavesi named in extended Fiji squad

Ospreys centre, Josh Matavesi, has been named in an extended 53-man squad by Fiji coach, John Mckee, in preparation for the upcoming Pacific Nations Cup and the Rugby World Cup.

Tevita Cavubati, who spent the second half of the season at the Ospreys after signing a short-term contract to bolster an injury hit second row, joins Matavesi in the squad.

Fiji are in the same pool as Wales, Australia and tournament hosts England at the World Cup, and feature in the opening fixture at Twickenham against the hosts on Friday 18th September. They play Wales at the Millennium Stadium on Thursday 1st October.

Matavesi, who has eight caps for Fiji proved a huge success in his first year as an Osprey, equaling the record for appearances in a single season with 29.
