Ospreylian colleges look forward to derby clash

Ospreylian colleges look forward to derby clash

By Laura Kerslake | 01/10/2013

Second round of league rugby sees Ospreylian colleges go head-to-head

The big game of the WRU Wednesday Under 18 League this week has to be the Ospreylian derby between Gower College Swansea and Neath Port Talbot College which will be held tomorrow at Llandarcy, kick off 2.30pm.

After Gower College's 64 – 3 beating last week by Cymoedd they have been training hard and are hoping for a more positive outcome in their second game of the season. Neath Port Talbot College had a much better start with a 52 – 0 victory over Brynteg Comprehensive and will be looking to build on that and keep the momentum going with a win over their local rivals.

With 11 Eyasses starting for Gower College Swansea and 8 in the N.P.T.C. squad it really will be an Ospreylian derby and a chance to witness the possible future of the Ospreys. In a new initiative by S4C the game will be broadcast live on the internet on www.s4c.co.uk/rygbi from 2.15pm and highlights will be shown at 10.30pm on their new Rygbi Pawb show.

Bridgend College are also in action where they will take on Pembroke College at Pencoed, also at 2.30pm. After beating Newport High School 21 - 11 they go into the game as favourites. However Pembroke college will be looking to regain ground after being handed a 67 – 0 thrashing last week by Coleg Sir Gar and the home side know they must not take a win for granted.
