Bosses at Ospreys are calling upon Primary Schools and Clubs across the region to take advantage of their latest cut-price ticket deal to help spur on the side in the crucial Magners League game against local rivals Newport Gwent Dragons next week (Friday 25th April, 7.30pm).After the jubilation of securing the EDF Energy Cup last weekend, attention turns swiftly back to the Magners League with victory against the Dragons vital to the Ospreys hopes of securing automatic qualification for next season's Heineken Cup. Chiefs at the region are hoping to pull in the crowd by extending an invitation to all clubs and schools, allowing them to bring 20 children and five adults to the match for £25, working out at just £1 per ticket. Any school or club interested in taking such a party should contact the Ospreys office for further details.
Bosses have introduced the initiative as a thank you to supporters for generating such a tremendous atmosphere at Twickenham in the final and for their continued support home & away this season. The evening also presents a great opportunity for youngsters and adults alike to see their heroes parade the EDF trophy around the home turf for the first time since they beat the Tigers.
Ospreys Managing Director Roger Blyth said:
"We know we aren't going to win the Magners League title this year, but we can still finish as the highest placed Welsh region in the league, and that along with securing our place in next season's Heineken Cup is all the motivation we need going into the latter part of the season."
"The atmosphere created by our supporters at Twickenham was second to none, and by us introducing this offer for the re-arranged derby game against the Dragons, we are saying thank you to them for their efforts, and also, encouraging those who may have thought about staying away to come down and help us finish off the season in style."
"The offer to schools and clubs is an extension of the work we are doing with these throughout the season, to which we always enjoy a good response, and is just the latest in a line of initiatives designed to ensure that the Ospreys have a place in the hearts and minds of the next generation of supporters."
"I'm sure it will prove a popular move with our supporters, who will want to do all they can to out-sing their rivals in the last derby game of the season and prove they are the most dedicated fans in Wales, across all generations."
