Neath Port Talbot schools enjoy Llandarcy Festival

By Ospreys Rugby | 17/05/2013

The Ospreys Community Rugby team hosted an Atomic Touch Festival for secondary schools in Neath Port Talbot at the region's Llandarcy training base on Thursday.

Organised in association with Neath Port Talbot Council, Physical Activity and Sports Service (PASS), 5x60 and WRU, the festival saw 12 teams participating from Years 7 and 8 from Ystalyfera, Cwmtawe, Llangatwg, Cefn Saeson, Cwrt Sart, St Josephs, Dyffryn, Glan Afan and Cymmer Comprehensive Schools.

In total 112 participants (47 girls) enjoyed a fun, purposeful and well managed activity day, gaining in many cases an introduction to rugby that it is hoped will help to spark a lifelong passio for the game. Nearly 20 students from Neath Port Talbot College helped deliver during the festival with many keen to help coach, officiate and manage the logistics of the festival.
