During the current Magner League season, points are awarded as follows:

4 points will be awarded for a win
2 points will be awarded for a draw
1 point will be awarded to a team that loses a match by 7 points or less
1 point will be awarded to a team scoring 4 tries or more in a match

League standings will first be determned by the number of league points accumulated. If two or more teams finish with the same number of league points, their placings will be determined by the following criteria in descending order:

- Number of matches won;
- Points Difference;
- No. of tries scored;
- No. of points scored;
- Try Difference
- A play-off match (for top placing only) and for other placings it will be dependent upon the fewest number of red and yellow cards received
