Ospreys take 2012/13 jersey launch to the waterfront....

Following on from the success of last year's jersey launch at the Quadrant Shopping Centre, also in Swansea, where hundreds of fans turned up to meet their heroes and catch their first glimpse of the new-look black and steel blue shirt at the first ever public jersey launch event, it looks set to be an even bigger and better event this time around.

Kevin Johns, the much loved broadcaster from official radio station Swansea Sound will host a fun-packed day of activity on Friday 17^th August.

There will be a strong Ospreys presence at the Waterfront Museum ahead of the official jersey reveal, with rugby themed inflatables, skills coaching from the region's Community Rugby team and appearances from Ozzy the Osprey and The Wave's Dylan the Dog, keeping fans young and old entertained before the headline event, when the wraps finally come off this year's jersey.

The entire playing squad will also be in attendance to meet supporters, sign autographs and pose for pictures, with some of them taking part in a catwalk presentation of not only the new shirt but also to show off the full range of 2012/13 Ospreys leisurewear.

Andrew Hore, Chief Operations Officer at the Ospreys, said:

"The 2011/12 jersey launch was a fantastic success, with supporters, players, staff and commercial partners thoroughly enjoying a wonderful opportunity to get to know each other at the centre of the local community.

"We had a wonderful welcome at the Quadrant last year and such was the turnout that we felt that to improve on it we had to take it somewhere with more space to not only allow us to show off the new jersey but to turn the area into an Ospreys funzone, allowing the community to come together at the National Waterfront Museum and enjoy a great day ahead of our pre-season fixture against Bath at the Liberty Stadium the following day.

"We have a number of events this summer that will take the team out into the community, something that is at the heart of what we are about at the Ospreys, building a strong connection that inspires the local public to want to come to the Liberty and support us."

The eagerly awaited home and away jerseys will go on sale the same day, with supporters able to purchase theirs either at the National Waterfront Museum or the Ospreys Club Shop at the Liberty Stadium and online following the launch event, which gets underway at 11.00am.
