Bishop disappointed after narrow defeat

"We're pretty disappointed with the result. Coming off the back of a good win against the Scarlets the boys were really up for it. We knew there were things that we had to put right, but we probably let ourselves down a bit in the first half. But, second half we showed a bit more and there are plenty of positives to take out of it. The spirit of the squad is good and we took it to them. We were possibly unlucky at the end not to come away with the win.

"It wasn't complacency. It's a totally different game to the Scarlets one. It's probably helped the Blues a bit, not having a game this week because it was a short turnaround, but saying that we don't want to seem as though we are making any excuses. We were out there on the pitch and we just didn't play well enough for 80 minutes. The second half we showed what we can do, and I suppose that's the main thing.

"The forwards started getting into the game more and we started running good lines, running hard, not letting them bully us. Instead of them being on the front foot as they had been in the first half, we put them on the back foot and were able to put pressure on them in the right areas. We managed to turn that into points, but it wasn't enough.

"Obviously the boys are disappointed, but there's a positive feeling in the dressing room. We're looking forward to next Friday's game against Leinster now, and after the way we stuck at it and played in the second half there are some positives to take away. We will work hard, we're always looking to improve, and to do that, we need to play as a team. It's important that we turn 40 minutes into 80 if we're going to succeed."
