Gough: "We're the guys who can put it right"

The veteran second row refused to be downbeat, pointing out the positive results from this youthful group of players that have put the Ospreys well in the hunt for a play-off place, acknowledging it had been a bad night but urging them to rise to the challenge in the final five games of the season.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Gough said:

"This group of players, without the internationals, have been very strong for us this year. We set standards earlier in the year, young lads who've come into the team and played superbly well, played for each other.

"I thought we just didn't quite have that edge tonight that we have had all year, and that's what this group of players have to be disappointed with. We know that we have to have that edge. We've had it to win previously. We've won ugly, we've showed good camaraderie and we've done it a certain way. The ingredient that's been good for us all through this campaign wasn't there tonight. That edge is what we need.

"As any season goes, you're going to have highs, you're going to have lows. I thought Glasgow were worth their win tonight, they played better than us in areas. We need to be playing to a certain standard to win games, we've kept that most of the year, but tonight we didn't quite hit that standard. We're in charge of that and we're the guys who can put it right. The great thing about rugby is there's always another game coming along to put it right. There's always pressure on us at the Ospreys, that's nothing new."
