OSPREYS FANS URGED TO ACT SWIFTLY AS WALLABIES CLASH HEADS FOR A SELL-OUT

Now, with the deadline for season-ticket holders to guarantee their regular seat for the game fast approaching, fans are being urged to act swiftly if they want to ensure their tickets for the first ever match between a Welsh region and a touring international side.

With the game on Wednesday 1^st November expected to be the first Liberty Stadium capacity crowd, Ospreys Managing Director Roger Blyth is advising supporters not to leave buying their tickets for the game until the last minute:

"Without a doubt, the visit of Australia to Liberty Stadium has fired the imagination of rugby supporters in the region and we are anticipating a full house, which would be a record Ospreys crowd beating the attendance for the game against Wasps last season.

"I think it's fair to say that supporters have a tendency to leave it until the day of the game to purchase their tickets for a match, but my strong advice would be that if you do that for the Australia match you risk ending up very disappointed indeed. More than two-thirds of the tickets have already gone and as anticipation builds ahead of the game the remaining tickets will go pretty quickly.

"We appreciate that matches at Liberty Stadium have come thick and fast in recent weeks and supporting the Ospreys can prove an expensive hobby, but anyone who wants to be at Liberty Stadium for what will be an evening of rugby to remember should ensure they have their tickets as soon as possible."

The game is not included in the Ospreys season ticket package and is an all pay event for all supporters. However, season-ticket holders have until Saturday 30^th September to guarantee their regular seat for the game, after which date they will be released on general sale. Season ticket holders will also receive a 50% discount off the ticket price for their own seat. Any additional tickets purchased are subject to normal pricing.

Mr Blyth commented:

"We have ensured that our season-ticket holders have been rewarded for their fantastic ongoing support through a reduced price and the possibility of guaranteeing their regular seat for the match. They have until 4pm on Saturday to take advantage of these offers, after which all remaining tickets will go on general sale.

"I'm sure that with the deadline approaching we will see a rush of last minute purchasers as no Ospreys season-ticket holder would want to miss this match."

The match against former Swansea coach John Connolly's side will kick off the Wallabies tour of the Celtic Nations and will be the first time that the Aussies have visited the Ospreys region in 14 years when the then World Champions were involved in two classic encounters against Swansea and Neath. The All-Whites recorded a famous 21-6 victory on 4^th November 1992 with tries from Garin Jenkins and Scott Gibbs, before the tourists overcame a fierce challenge at the Gnoll to claim a 16-8 success a week later.

Mr Blyth added:

"The two games in 1992 were truly memorable occasions for rugby fans in the region and I believe that if this fixture is anywhere near as exciting as those were then we are going to be in for a treat, a view obviously shared by those snapping up tickets more than a month ahead of the game.

"It's sure to be a full blooded contest between two quality teams that will hopefully provide similar memories to those present as the 1992 matches did."

Tickets are priced at £20 or £15 for adults, with discounted tickets available for OAP's, students and Under-16's. The Ticket Office is open 10am-6pm Mon-Fri and 10am-4pm on Saturday for supporters to purchase their tickets for the match.
