Who's Who

Welcome to the Ospreys Supporters Club (OSC) web pages. We hope you find the information here useful and informative. As you will appreciate, we are still a relatively young organisation, but feel we have made good progress in the first 12 months of being formed. We're always keen for your ideas so please get in touch with us via email or talk to us at home games. You'll find us pre-match at the gazebo in the supporters village and post match in our clubhouse, the Riverside Bar.

Mike Phippen

Mike Phippen

Chairman

As a young 64 yr old I thoroughly enjoy this job. It obviously has its ups and downs, which are inevitable. However, for overall satisfaction in working with the team we have as the OSC committee, I could not have wished for a better or more enthusiastic bunch of people to take the OSC forward. I would like the OSC to be the best supporters club in Wales and I will accept the 2nd best in the Magners League to Munster, (but only for the next 2 years!).

Caroline Rees

Caroline Rees

Secretary

A lifelong rugby supporter, I've been coming the Liberty since it opened. I joined the committee at the end of the 2010-11 season after being impressed with what the OSC had achieved in their first year. I took on the role of secretary when Paul stepped down in Dec 11 and am trying my best to carry on his good work. By day I am a marketing consultant and at weekends I turn into a passionate rugby supporter who wants my club to be the best in Europe and one we can all be proud of. Come and say hello in the Riverside Bar post match!

Paul Harris

Paul Harris

Secretary

It's been fantastic to work so closely with the Ospreys in setting up the supporters club. The amount of backing that we have, coupled with the support and assistance we get has been phenomenal, an example of which is our inclusion on this website. Hopefully, the next 12 months will see us go from strength to strength both on and off the pitch.

Melanie Maggs

Melanie Maggs

Publicity Officer

As the Publicity Officer I work closely with the other members of the Committee and Local Reps, so that I can publicise the work of the OSC through various means including the local media. I also currently run a successful bus service to the Liberty Stadium from Port Talbot for home games.

The OSC with its dedicated members are striving to make the match day experience an even more enjoyable one. I would like to see us reach out to an even greater fan base and see the OSC echo the Ospreys' vision of being "at the heart of the community", encouraging the people of Ospreylia to join with us and support the "OSPREYS"!

Keith Collins

Media Officer

My name is Keith Collins and I am the media officer for OSC. It is my responsibility to consolidate and increase support for the Ospreys, both within and beyond the geographical boundaries of the region through promoting the club via the media. Ultimately, I hope to see the Ospreys develop into a European force, full filling our true potential.

Ray Morgan

Ray Morgan

Vice Chairman / Entertainment Secretary

Hi Ospreylians, I'm Ray Morgan from Seven Sisters but for tax purposes now living in Neath. Originally a long standing Blacks supporter I now watch both teams where possible. Being vice-chair I am back up to Mike Phippen but my main role is trying to create a rugby club atmosphere for supporters. To that end we are a little way down the road with post match atmosphere at The Riverside and various other ideas are being considered.

Terry Allen

Terry Allen

Travel Co-Ordinator

Having spent 35+ years in building and construction management and watching rugby in all parts of UK & Ireland (season ticket holder with Northampton Saints for 10+ years) on my return to Swansea in 2001 I spent time looking for a team to support. When the Liberty opened I was one of the first supporters who put labels on the seats. I joined the committee at the later part of 2010-11 season and now enjoy the role of getting supporters to away fixtures. I have the distinction of being the eldest member of the committee but the role keeps me active and the brain ticking over.

Travel Co-Ordinator

I work with Terry to coordinate the away travel. I'm currently not around much as my wife gave birth to twin boys in December, so we're up to our elbows in nappies and feeds …

Minutes

I joined the OSC in September this year after moving back from the dark side or England as it's otherwise known. Some may even say I have moved to the Dark Side now that I am living back in Neath.

I have been supporting rugby longer than I care to remember; I know I don't look that old. First for Neath supporter and when regions came about I started to support the Ospreys even if it was with Swansea at the time but I have now got over that. I never miss a home game for The O's; although at times some may wish I did as I am not the quietest of supporters and contrary to belief I am not there just to watch the men in shorts.

I am pleased to be part of The OSC, even on cold wet nights when we are trying to stop the gazebo blowing away. The committee has achieved so much in the short time it has been in operation. This is testament to the hard work put in daily by many of the members and the support of our great fans and The Ospreys.

Nigel Jones

Nigel Jones

A relative newcomer to the Committee. I hope that my past involvement with a junior club's committee and my experience as a lawyer will enable me to be of some service e.g. erecting the OSC gazebo and minder to our Chairman.
