School based sessions delivered over a 4 week block looking at the key skills that we have identified. Passing, evasion, tackle technique, kicking and body profiling. Also used as a tool for talent ID.
School development sessions are run in 4 week blocks to create sustainable playing numbers in secondary schools. Create playing opportunities through schools festivals, matrixes, cup competitions and 7 a side competition. 4 Week block of skill development sessions to increase player quality within the school system. Link secondary school sessions to club development needs.
A pre Christmas school based skills programme delivered over a 4 week block looking at the key skills that we have identified. Passing, evasion, tackle technique, kicking and body profiling. Also used as a tool for talent ID as well as open day skills sessions held in each district as well as a central regional event at Llandarcy.
45+ players selected to take part in a 10 week programme that concentrates on the development based on the 6 pillars, Technical, Tactical, Physical, Psychological, Nutritional and Holistic. During the 10 week programme there will be 2 rounds of inter district games that leads into selection for U15 Dewar Shield.
Continued skill development of the players with ELPDC sessions and continue to support schools programme. 17 games a season with a view of developing the next group of Ospreys U16 players.
The U16 district programme underpins the regional U16 programme as a way of continuingly developing players that have missed out on regional selection. Development through ELPDC sessions and a district U16 competition that is played prior to Christmas. The U16 programme is also used as a talent identification process for Ospreys U18 and U17 Development.
A training group that underpins the regional U18 programme used as a talent identification process for Ospreys U18. Continued player development based on the 6 pillars.
The U20 programme is a talent identification programme that is aimed at finding the best young talent in divisions 1 and lower that have been late developers. The programme consists of an 8 week training programme with 2 fixtures in front of Premiership and regional coaching staff as a way of finding the best talent in the region.
