Season 2005-2006
Season 2005-6
During previous seasons, due to the nature of the amalgamation, the Ospreys fixtures had been shared between the Gnoll (home of Neath RFC) & St Helens (home of Swansea RFC). The beginning of the 2005-6 season saw the Ospreys move into its new regional venue, the Liberty Stadium.

This multi-million pound facility, considered to be one of the best of its kind in Europe, has all the facilities that professional sportsmen & paying spectators could wish for. This move proved to be the catalyst for significant developments, both on and off the field, with average attendances growing from a little under 5000 to more than 9000 in year one.

During the season, probably the most notable performance was the European Cup game against the much-fancied Stade Francais, but sadly the Ospreys failed to progress any further, with success in the Celtic League also eluding their grasp.
