Season 2003-04
Season 2003-04
In 2003, Ospreys Rugby was formed when the traditional Neath & Swansea Rugby clubs formed a partnership to create a new regional entity, following a comprehensive review of the professional game by the Welsh Rugby Union.

In the space of two months the Ospreys pulled together a squad for their inaugural season, with British Lions, Scott Gibbs appointed as the Ospreys first-ever captain (pictured above leading the team out for their first ever game).

It took time for the squad to take shape, but after a long battle in their first season, and thanks to a last-minute try from Duncan Jones up in Glasgow, the Ospreys secured that vital bonus point & qualification for the following season´s European Cup.
