By Ospreys Rugby | 10/05/2019

Sunday 12th May will see 8 teams take to the field at Llandarcy for the culmination of the 2018/19 U15’s Viessmann Ospreys Cup. But who will take home the silverware?

Shield: Fall Bay v Waunarlwydd

Fall Bay have soared their way to Sunday’s finals after a 49-15 away victory to Tondu in the Quarter-Finals before a 21-0 triumph over Mumbles. But they face equally tough opponents against Waunarlwydd in the Finals. A tight 17-23 Quarter-Final win over Bonymaen before a 12-32 victory over Bridgend Sports saw the young side stamp their place in the final round. But who will be lifting the silverware at the end of the game?

Cup: Abercrave v Trebanos

Abercrave have had a storming season, finishing top of the table and remaining unbeaten throughout. A 60-5 victory over Pontrhydyfen in the Quarter-finals and a 45-10 Semi-Final win over Loughor saw the young side soar their way to the Cup Final full of confidence. Their opponents Trebanos finished the pool stages in third position in the table before notching up a 32-7 win over South Gower in the Quarters, and a 25-10 semi-final win over Bridgend Athletic to reach the finals. No doubt Sunday’s Final will be an exciting matchup between the two sides.

Plate: Pontrhydyfen v Cwmafan

Both teams in the plate final are evenly matched, with the two sides picking up 1 win and two losses throughout the league. It was a tough start to the pool stages for Cwmafan who fell the wrong side of a 50-0 score line against Bridgend Athletic, but the side fought their way back to claim a place in the semi-finals. Despite a tough encounter against South Gower, the young Cwmafan side came out on top with a 12-20 win to secure their place in the final. Their opponents Pontyrhydyfen kicked off their campaign with a 29-16 win over Morriston and went onto clinch the honours in their semi-final against Cwmgors to earn their place in the final round.

Bowl: Swansea Uplands V Nantyffyllon

The Bowl is set to be a cracker with both teams racking up some impressive performances throughout the competition. Swansea Uplands flew to a 33-0 and a 59-7 victory in the group stages, sailing them through to the semi-finals. A tight 29-30 win in the semis against Morriston saw the Swansea side come out on top to secure their place in the final round. Their opponents also pulled some solid performances out of the bag including a 19-0 win over Bryncoch in the Quarter-Finals and a 13-0 win over Tata Steel in the semis to take them through to the finals!
