New faces at Ospreys

A behind the scenes restructure at the Ospreys has seen the appointment of two new faces to a revamped marketing and communications team.

Jamie Rees takes up the newly created position of Head of Marketing and Communications, alongside Sarah Nash, appointed Marketing Manager. Long serving Communications Manager, Peter Owen, continues in his role and will work alongside Jamie and Sarah.

Jamie joins the Ospreys with an outstanding marketing background, establishing his reputation as a creative thinker operating in the arts world, working for a number of major venues including Wales Millennium Centre, St David’s Hall and Birmingham Hippodrome. He has also written for the Western Mail, South Wales Echo, Wales Online and Buzz Magazine, among others, as well as acting as a marketing consultant for organisations including Arts Council of Wales. Most recently he was Director of Marketing & Audience Development for Chapter Arts Centre where his remit was to introduce new audiences to contemporary arts.

Having begun her marketing career with Golley Slater, Sarah has worked for the Welsh Rugby Union for the last seven years. At the Union she has managed projects across all strands of rugby from grassroots participation, for two Rugby World Cups and two British and Irish Lions Tours, and multiple Autumn International and Six Nations campaigns.

Sarah was recently appointed as Ambassador of the City of Kitakyushu for the RWC 2019 and her work on the 2012 RBS Six Nations was recognised with a Rugby Expo Marketing Campaign of the Year 2013 award.

Andrew Millward, Managing Director, Ospreys Rugby, said:

“I’m delighted to be able to confirm today’s news with the addition of Jamie and Sarah, two highly talented and well respected marketing professionals, joining the organisation to help us deliver our message to new audiences.

“In a digital world, we are able to communicate directly with more people than ever before but, at the same time, the competition for their attention is huge, so these appointments are crucial for us to cut through the noise, growing ticket sales to old and new audiences alike.

“It’s an exciting time for everyone involved with the Ospreys, players, staff, commercial partners and supporters, and we look forward to working together to ensure we stay at the forefront of not just Welsh, but European, rugby.”
