When Black and Blue collides

The Guinness PRO14 derby matches continue this coming weekend, with the Ospreys welcoming Cardiff Blues to the Liberty Stadium for a crunch game in Round 13 on Saturday afternoon (3pm KO).

With the race for the play-offs in Conference A looking more intriguing than ever, a solitary point separates the Ospreys in fourth spot and their guests one place behind in fifth as they kick off 2019.

The two teams began the Christmas period with home wins in Round 11, the Blues needing a last gasp Gareth Anscombe penalty to secure a 19-16 win over the Dragons, while Sam Davies steered the Ospreys to a 19-12 defeat of the Scarlets.

Round 12 saw the two sides on the road, Cardiff Blues kicking off the weekend with an impressive bonus point success at Parc y Scarlets, coming out on top 34-5. Then, on Sunday, there was late drama as the Dragons beat the Ospreys 23-22.

A year ago, the first weekend of 2018 also saw the two teams go head to head at the Liberty, the Ospreys winning a thriller 29-28.

Saturday’s forthcoming Liberty Stadium clash is a crucial one for both teams as they pursue a place in the top three and you can be there to catch the best of the action.
