Clarke and Tipuric attend launch

Allen Clarke and Justin Tipuric left the Ospreys training camp in Portugal one day early to help launch the new Guinness PRO14 season in Glasgow.

The pair flew into the 18/19 Final host city to attend a season launch party on Monday evening, before a full day of media activity on Tuesday, including a visit to Celtic Park, where the final will be played next May, allowing Tipuric a chance to show his footballing skills.

Amongst a host of interviews across the day, the newly appointed Ospreys captain was asked about his expectation for this summer’s big signings, Wales trio Scott Williams, George North and Aled Davies.

"All three of them bring so much, it's not just on the field either," he said.

"They have that little bit of leadership as well, I think it has made a difference. It has helped already.

"And they are world class players, when they have the ball in their hands they will only make us better as a team."

Clarke and Tipuric headed back to Wales on Tuesday evening and will link back up with the team at Llandarcy Academy of Sport on Wednesday morning before heading to London for Thursday’s clash with Saracens at the Honourable Artillery Company.

The new Guinness PRO14 season kicks off at the Liberty Stadium next week when Edinburgh are the visitors on Friday 31 August.
