Key Modification for OitC Senior Rugby Camp

The ever-popular Ospreys in the Community Senior Rugby Camp is new and improved for Summer 2018.

Due to the success of previousSenior Rugby Camps, this summer will see it grow from a half-day to a full-day camp, furthering the experience of the young budding players.

The Senior Camp offers 13-17 year olds, of both sexes, looking to take the next step in their rugby career the opportunity to take part in expert coach-led sessions and position specific training. It will be held in Llandarcy Academy of Sport, on 10^th August 2018, from 8.30am-3.30pm, all for just £30.

In addition to the usual on-field skills work and strength and conditioning training, this summer’s camp also offers focused workshops for the attendees with tailored, position-specific training to enhance and develop their skills.

The teenagers will have the chance to study the Ospreys who play in their specific position, as well as being shown the extent of the preparation that goes into being a professional rugby player. From there attendees will also be split into the forward pack, working on body positions in scrums and lineouts; half backs, building on their clearance kicks and their ability to service off both hands and finally the centres and back three can develop their high ball takes and counter-attacks. Strength and conditioning training will also be tailored to the specific positions.

After the attendees are put through their rugby paces, a Q&A session will be held with the Ospreys players. This is a fantastic opportunity for camp participants to interact with the professional players and to develop their knowledge and understanding about the sport and becoming a professional player.
