Klim’s Namibia win again

By Ospreys Rugby | 01/07/2018

Namibia chalked up their third consecutive bonus-point victory in the Rugby Africa Gold Cup with a 63-7 win over Morocco in Casablanca on Saturday.

The win means they remain firmly on course for a fourth straight title and a place in Pool B at Rugby World Cup 2019.

The weekend's other match was anything but one-sided, though, with Kenya having to come from behind in a high-scoring encounter in Nairobi to beat Zimbabwe 45-36.

Seven-time champions Namibia top the Gold Cup standings on 15 points from three games with the second-placed Kenyans seven points in arrears but having played one game less.

The 2018 Gold Cup also serves as the region's qualification tournament for RWC 2019 with the champions going through to Japan as Africa 1 and the runner-up taking part in the global repechage later this year.

Having scored four tries in last week’s win over Tunisia, Klim wasn’t among the scorers this weekend.

Klim and his Namibian counterparts return to action on Saturday 4th August when they travel to Bulawayo to play Zimbabwe before ending their campaign with what could be a final game decider, at home to second placed Kenya, the following Saturday.
