Half term camps a success for OitC!

More than 200 young rugby players aged 6 – 16 have enjoyed a half term week of rugby learning and fun, after taking part in the Ospreys rugby camps powered by Lovell Rugby.

The busy half term week for the Ospreys in the Communityteam kicked off with our traditional three day camp at Llandarcy.  Boys and girls aged 6 – 12 years old learnt lots of new rugby skills, developed their ability to work in a team and gained confidence, whilst also having lots of fun and making new friends.

There were also some special visitors to our three day camp, when the Ospreys players made their traditional visit to meet our attendees, sign autographs, pose for photographs and play some rugby with them.

Friday saw not one but two camps, with a senior camp for 13 – 16 year olds held at Llandarcy and an outreach camp for younger children at Archbishop McGrath School in Bridgend.

The senior camp at Llandarcy worked with the teenagers to further their rugby skills and also to help them look at the basics of strength and conditioning, with attendees enjoying sessions both on the pitch and in the gym. For the first time ever a group of Ospreys players joined us at our senior camp, helping the young rugby players with their skills and offering rugby and training advice.

Meanwhile to the East of our region, it was another busy day of rugby fun in Bridgend. More than 50 young players attended Archbishop McGrath, for one of our ever growing outreach camps, which were set up to allow easier access to the sport for children around our region.

Our next Ospreys rugby camps, powered by Lovell Rugby,  will take place in February half term and the Easter holidays 2018. For more information or to book, visit ospreysrugby.com/rugbycamps.
