Speaking ahead of the game coach Richard Fussell said:

We’ve had a good training week, taking a lot of lessons out of the last game against Munster A. They brought a lot of challenges for us and as a group we took a lot out of it. I know we didn’t get the result but we learnt a lot from their performance, and how we can put what they put into practice in our game.

“There were a few key moments in that game that cost us, our own mistakes which gifted them a couple of tries. From our perspective, if we eradicate those errors within our own game it gives us a better chance of staying in the contest and putting in a better performance.

“Bedford are a class outfit and are doing well in the championship. They’ll probably come out strong in this competition giving their result against Nottingham last weekend. They’ll obviously have home advantage, they’ve got a quality pack, and a big physical backline with pace to burn.

“It’s going to be a big challenge for us, and I think they’ll offer us something a little different to Munster, but we’re going to take that challenge head on and aim to get a good performance and get a result out of it.

“It's another opportunity for this young group to show they have what it takes to perform at this level and, potentially, higher and we as a coaching group we are really looking forward to it and seeing his different players and partnerships stand up to the test."
