#BRINGABESTIE to Hawks Rugby

After the successful launch of Hawks girls rugby clusters across the region last year, Ospreys in the Community and the Welsh Rugby Union want even more girls to play the game this summer.

Off the back of the national launch in 2016, more than 2000 girls from under 9s to under 15s regularly playing rugby at 28 cluster centres around Wales, often for the first time.

This summer, there are even more opportunities to take part in girls rugby, with clusters adding locations and training evenings and with a vital army of volunteers gaining new skills and working hard to create an enjoyable, sustainable and supportive environment.

To celebrate and share the sense of fun and achievement gained by women and girls playing rugby and volunteering at girls' cluster centres around Wales, the WRU has launched a 'Bring a Bestie' campaign.

Whether you are already registered at a cluster and have a friend you think would love it too, or if you and your friend/friends are new to rugby but fancy giving it a go, find your nearest cluster below and join the girls' rugby revolution! There are money-can't-buy prizes up for grabs for you, your bestie and your cluster.

How it works

Step 1 - a current cluster player brings a new friend to a session or a new player attends the cluster session with her friend

Step 2 - Both existing and new players receive a wristband

Step 3 - Names get entered into a prize draw

Share the fun

Tweet a selfie of you and your bestie during a cluster session and tag @welshrugbyunion using #BRINGABESTIE to be in with a chance of being re-tweeted by the Welsh Rugby Union. The more creative the picture the more chance you have of getting your picture shared!

Prize Draw

1. Player prize - Meet and greet with Wales Women's Team and tickets to a Women's international game.

2. Cluster prize - The cluster with the most new girls registered once the campaign starts, will receive a coaching session from Wales Women Head Coach, Rowland Phillips.
