Prices for the Challenge Cup quarter-final against Stade Francais have been cut by as much as £15 for adults, allowing supporters to cover their ticket and travel for the big game.
The two sides meet at the Principality Stadium on Sunday 2nd April at 5.45pm and, following the enforced venue change, there is now a flat adult ticket fee of £10, with kids paying £5.
Ospreys Managing Director, Andrew Millward, has urged supporters to make the most of the discounted ticketing and enjoy a day to remember at the national stadium.
“Now that we have been able to finalise arrangements for this huge fixture, everybody is really excited at the prospect of taking such a big game to the Principality Stadium” he said.
“It’s a one-off occasion, a special event and we want our supporters to really get behind the team who did such a fantastic job in the pool stage to secure top seed status.
“When putting our plans together there were a number of key considerations at the front of out mind, to satisfy the demands of the team and our supporters as best as possible, and we are taking the game to the only venue that could tick all the boxes.
“Of course, moving the game has meant we’ve had to readdress the ticketing situation to take into account the fact that we are no longer playing the game at the Liberty Stadium, which means a large percentage of our support will have to travel further afield than usual.
“By halving the price of a standard ticket to just £10 we are helping to cover off any extra travel costs supporters may incur. They get to watch what promises to be a fantastic match pitching leading players like Parisse, Genia, Webb and Alun Wyn Jones against each other for a tenner, with another tenner in their pocket for travel. Two adults and two children can enjoy the match for just £30.
“We are fortunate to enjoy the support of a large, widespread fan base and recognise many of our supporters will actually benefit from a game that is closer to home for them than usual.
“Wherever you are traveling from, the Principality Stadium is located close to Cardiff’s main public transport links with a good train service running in all directions pre and post-match. Matchday hospitality in Cardiff is legendary so that £10 will no doubt be put to good use in some way, be it a train fare or pre and post-match refreshments. It all helps.
“We hope that not only our hard core of support but the wider rugby public will want to part of a special occasion as Wales faces France once again, just two weeks after the two national teams play each other on the final day of the Six Nations.”
Trains will be running regularly between West Wales and Cardiff on the day pre and post-match, right up until five past midnight on the morning of Monday 3rd April. An anytime day return between Swansea and Cardiff costs just £11.50. For more details visit www.thetrainline.com.
Tickets for the game resume sale at 10am on Thursday morning and are available from the Liberty Stadium Ticket Office and at www.ospreysrugby.com/buytickets.
Personal callers will also be able to purchase from the WRU Ticket Office on Westgate Street between 9.30am and 5.30pm, Monday to Saturday.
Season members have until Saturday 18th March to secure their tickets in a reserved area, ensuring they have access to the best available seats, after which all seats will be released to general sale, on a first come, first served basis. If you are a season member wishing to take advantage of the best seats, you can only purchase via the Liberty Stadium.
Wheelchair users and ambulant supporters can purchase tickets via the Liberty Stadium Ticket Office.
Anyone who has already purchased their quarter-final ticket at the original price will be contacted directly over the next 48 hours to outline the various options available to you. Your seat in the reserved area for best available seats is being held for you.
