Eyasses ready for U18 Final

Having completed their WRU Regional Age-Grade Championship campaign unbeaten, the Ospreys U18s will look to end on a high when they face the Dragons on Tuesday night at Sardis Road, 7.30pm KO.

They booked their spot in this year’s final in impressive style having defeated RGC (22-6) and the Blues (29-18) in the first two fixtures before being held to a 7-7 draw  in the Llandovery mud.

With the two finalists already confirmed, the young Ospreys won the dress rehearsal last Tuesday when the Dragons were defeated 39-5 in Bridgend.

The team will be looking to emulate the most recent Ospreys side to claim the U18 title, the class of 2015 who defeated the Blues 43-14 at Ystrad Mynach in the final where the scorers included Owen Watkin (2 tries) Keelan Giles (2) and Kieran Williams (1), with Phil Jones kicking eight points.

Also involved that night just two years ago and have gone on to feature for the senior Osprey side are Matthew Aubrey and James Ratti while B&I Cup ever present and this season’s Wales U20 skipper, Will Jones, captained the team.

Ospreys U18s Head Coach, Kevin James, said:

"The boys are looking forward to the final up at Sardis Road Tuesday night, however we respect and know that we will be in for a tougher battle than our previous game verses the Dragons. They will be at full strength and will give it their all in the final game as will we.

“The focus is simple. Work hard in training and prepare well ready for the game, then encourage the players to go out and express themselves as they have done in the previous games all season."
