Ospreys PS face Blues in B&I Cup warm-up

Cardiff Blues will host the Ospreys at BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park next Wednesday in a development fixture to warm-up for the British & Irish Cup (7.15pm).

It is the third year in succession that the two sides have met at the home of the Blues, with the hosts having taking the honours last November, 43-13, prior to the first ever involvement in the British & Irish Cup.

The year before, the Ospreys won 24-15 in a fixture used to give players a much needed run out ahead of the autumn international period, with squad members stepping up for the LV= Cup the following month.

Once again, entry on the night will be free to all spectators.

Instead there will be a bucket collection, in aid of #StayStrongForOws on the gate and supporters are kindly asked to donate generously.

The fixture will provide a tempting appetiser ahead of the main event, the first Welsh PRO12 derby of the season just 48 hours later as the Ospreys welcome the Blues to the Liberty Stadium.

The Ospreys Premiership Select XV will kick-off their British & Irish Cup campaign against London Irish at the Gnoll, Neath, on Saturday 15th October (2.30pm), with home games against Connacht Eagles, in December, and Cornish Pirates the following month, being played at Aberavon and Maesteg respectively.

Tickets for the competition opener against London Irish go on sale on Saturday via Neath RFC only, from the club house. Tickets are £10 with U16s free. Please note that British & Irish Cup fixtures aren’t covered by an Ospreys season membership.
