NPTC Group sign up with Ospreys again

The Ospreys will once again wear the logo of one of Wales’ largest colleges on their jersey in the coming season after NPTC Group extended its commercial agreement with the region.

NPTC Group, has a turnover of approximately £53 million and services more than 270,000 residents across communities stretching the length of Wales, from south to north.

The new institution, which has thousands of full and part-time students and employs around 1,000 people, also runs training courses for businesses across the country.

There are 11 campuses, one of which is Llandarcy Academy of Sport, the training home of the Ospreys where the region’s entire rugby operations are already based, from senior team through to the community rugby set-up.

The long-standing relationship between NPTC Group and Ospreys Rugby has grown and developed in recent seasons, with their logo first featuring on the match day jersey in 2013.

Mark Dacey, Chief Executive of NPTC Group said:

“NPTC Group is delighted to be working in partnership with the Ospreys once again for the forthcoming season and further developing what is already a successful relationship.

“The Ospreys use our excellent training facilities at Llandarcy Academy of Sport which includes a state-of-the-art gym, a national standard multi-use sports hall, climbing wall, all weather 3 G pitch, multi-use games area and indoor bounding track. They are first class facilities for a first class team and this new venture will cement the bond even further.”

Yarnie Guthrie, Commercial Manager, Ospreys Rugby, added:

“It’s excellent news that our long term relationship with NPTC Group continues to go from strength to strength, with the welcome news of this new agreement an indication of the group’s commitment to the partnership.

“Our two organisations work together very closely on a number of projects, this isn’t just about us sharing NPTC Group’s facilities and them paying to go on the Ospreys jersey. It is a true collaboration between two ambitious and forward thinking organisations that share a common ethos and desire to be at the heart of the local community. Continuing to work together, we can both thrive in our particular sectors.”

NPTC Group provides many opportunities and advantages for students, staff and local communities including:

  • an increased financial capability to undertake long-term planning and development to better reflect twenty-first century education
  • an opportunity to share some of the outstanding practices both institutions provide to their students
  • a wider range of courses on offer
